Dear Prospective Family,
Thank you for exploring concerning Plumas Christian School!
Education is a privilege for each individual and a sacred trust for the educational institution. We are personally thankful for every student we have, and take the interest expressed in Plumas Christian School by new families very seriously. We want to assist Christian parents in the Biblical training of their children spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and physically, as well as encourage every student to take ownership of the educational experience as something truly benefiting their life both now and in their future. In light of this, I would like to briefly explain the entrance procedure to our school.
For each incoming student candidate, there is a New Student Entrance Checklist. Through the checklist, we attempt to appropriately inquire concerning past school behaviors, academic efforts, and any other school-related areas. Because we are small (located in a small mountain town), individual student attitudes can yield significant influence in creating classroom and school atmosphere. Through our entrance requirements, we desire to help ensure the Plumas Christian School experience as one with future success for each student. Therefore, it may take a few weeks to assemble the data and have a new-student/family interview. Your patience and help is greatly appreciated in the process.
After the checklist has been completed, you will be notified in a timely manner as to an acceptance decision. In some cases, this decision may also suggest where we believe the student may best be placed within our academic setting. Once accepted, students in our school have described the school atmosphere as being similar to one of a family, with love, care, and committed support.
Through the entrance procedure, both the incoming family and the school begin the process of forging a relationship that is meant to compliment one-another in the raising and training of individual students. As evidenced in the Scriptures, God does have an educational atmosphere and philosophy in which He desires children to be raised. It is our desire to come alongside you and provide such a foundation, educational philosophy and atmosphere, and to be worthy of your trust placed in us.
Please do not hesitate to call on me, or our office staff, if any questions arise during the entrance procedure. It is our desire to serve you.
We remain your servants,
John A. Sturley, Principal
